Suite living on one level
The owner of this 1928 south Minneapolis home wanted to expand her first-floor footprint to incorporate features that would accommodate a one-level lifestyle. Building off a project our team had done years before, we worked with the owner to create a 400-square-foot addition that included a new reading area, laundry room, spacious bedroom with a large closet and custom dresser, and a new bathroom with a walk-in shower— all constructed over the garage we had built earlier. Custom pocket doors were used throughout to maximize space, and all new windows added plenty of daylight. We also created an outdoor deck offering a cozy, private outdoor spot conveniently located off the kitchen entrance. The new space seamlessly connects to the first floor’s existing kitchen, living, and dining rooms, creating an ideal “aging in place” option for the future.
