Making more room inside and out

These busy homeowners and their four dogs needed more room. The floorplan of their 1948 house no longer cut it. The owners met with architects from Albertsson Hansen Architecture to draw up a plan, and we got to work creating a 100-square-foot main floor addition that solved several problems with smart, stylish solutions. This extensive project included an expansive new kitchen with custom cabinetry, new windows, upgraded appliances, and multipurpose pantry space. Adjacent to the new kitchen is a newly created home office space. In the living room, we created handsome built-in shelving and storage surrounding the fireplace and new custom ceiling beams. Our work also included updating the main floor bathroom, building a new front porch, enhancing the front entrance, adding an adjacent mudroom, and rebuilding a deck in the back of the house. The home now offers spacious, gracious spaces for family, friends, and four-legged fans to gather.
