Bonus basement space includes spa sanctuary
Located in southwest Minneapolis, this 1915 home is a neighborhood “Grande Dame.” The current owners cherish its storied legacy, but with small children, a dog, and a busy household, they needed more usable space. Working closely with A&H Architecture, we turned a dingy basement into a highly functional, family-friendly space. The transformation included custom cabinetry to conceal the furnace and other utilities, a lounge area for indulging in a favorite TV show or working out, an updated laundry room, and a music room for the family musician. But the crowning jewel is the spacious spa. The large walk-in shower, a luxurious free-standing tub, and a custom sauna offer an exquisite retreat at day’s end. From drab to fab, this basement makeover provides ideal extra space for an active family.
