Scandinavian sensibilities

The owner of this southwest Minneapolis home wanted greater functionality and space in the kitchen while maintaining a clean, crisp Scandinavian aesthetic that would flow seamlessly with the rest of the house. A new floor plan was devised that opened and expanded the kitchen’s footprint and incorporated a new workstation, multipurpose pantry, prep area and mudroom off the home’s back entry. To keep the project within budget, the design combined IKEA pre-built cabinetry alongside custom-built features throughout. The result is a welcoming, reimagined space that works beautifully to meet the daily demands of this busy household.
