Tangletown Transformation
Gracious, older homes. Mature maples along winding roads. A close-knit community. Welcome to Minneapolis’ Tangletown neighborhood. Although the owners of this 1910 home loved all the location offered, the home’s choppy layout left much to be desired. After years of trying to make it work, the owners contacted Albertsson Hansen Architecture to find a fix. The result? A wholly transformed space. We collaborated closely with the architects and homeowners to ensure the result exceeded all expectations. The new space features a bright, airy, fully remodeled kitchen, including custom cabinetry, a substantial increase in storage, an expanded dining area, and a handy pantry — all setting the stage for festive family gatherings. A new sitting room off the kitchen provides the perfect place to relax with a book or do a bit of binge-watching. And an added powder room with a hidden pocket door makes the most of the newfound space. We also gave the living room fireplace a custom mantle. In addition, the primary bathroom upstairs was renovated, including a new shower, custom cabinets with inventive storage, and new colorful tile underfoot.
